"Oideion" is...
... the Greek word for a building in which poetical and musical contests were held. In English and French it is often spelled as Odeon, and the name has been used for opera and concert halls, and film theaters.

Oideion - performing arts online has been developed with financial support of the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS).

In 1997-1998 the Innovatie Wetenschappelijke Informatievoorziening (IWI) provided financial support.
